Southwest Homes Custom Home Consultant Jimmy Snell got an early start in the construction and remodeling industry while working after school and through his summers with a local builder. However, Jimmy was also born and bred to serve his country in the United States military. He was raised in a family who has served in every U.S. military conflict since World War I, so there was little doubt whether or not he would serve as well. Before transitioning to civilian life and working with us at Southwest Homes, SFC Snell kept that family legacy intact, serving 18 years in the United States Army, including tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. In 1999 while still serving in the U.S. Army, Jimmy started his own remodeling and repair business on the side. Once Jimmy left the military in 2015, it was not long before he and Jason Lafollette connected and by August, he was Southwest Homes Superintendent. During his time with Southwest Homes, Jimmy has witnessed and been a part of the rapid growth of the company, wearing many hats along the way. His knowledge of the construction process, attention to detail, customer relations, and creative home design abilities landed him in his current position in 2017 as a Custom Home Consultant. Jimmy says that he is doing what he loves and because of that, work doesn’t often feel like work. “One of the best feelings in the world is knowing that you’ve helped make someone else’s dream a reality and that’s what I get to do here every day with Southwest Homes.
